1	Founding Instrument(s) (with links if possible)	TMRC is a private company incorporated under the Companies Act, 2002. It is a financial institution licensed by Bank of Tanzania under the Banking and Financial Institutions (Mortgage Refinance Companies) Regulations 2022 and amendments of 2023. It is currently the sole MRC in Tanzania with licence number MRC 001.
2	Any additional or subsequent mandate or governance statements (not included in the above).	TMRC started with only one mandate - Mortgage Refinance, and one product, Refinancing. To catalyse and grow the housing finance market, a second product was introduced (Pre-finance) and later in 2026, Housing Micro Finance was also introduced. TMRC is targeting to launch the fourth product - Developer Financing (to address the significant supply gap in Tanzania) during H2 2026.

4	Legal status	TMRC is a private company incorporated in 2010 under the Companies Act, 2002 with Incorporation Number: TMRC is also a financial institution licensed by Bank of Tanzania as a Mortgage Refinance Company with licence number MRC 001.
5	Government accounting for stake	The Government of United Republic of Tanzania has acquired a minority stake of 27.73%
6	Member bank accounting for stake	Equity investments into TMRC are accounted for in accordance with guidance from IFRSs.

8	Other Comments	On the shareholding, first few years was mostly banks, then National Housing Corporation (a State-Owned Developer) joined, then First Housing Finance (a mortgage finance company) joined, more banks joined, then Shelter Afrique joined in 2015, IFC joined in 2019, more banks joined and then the government just joined in November 2025 with 27.73% direct shareholding. National Housing Corporation and TIB Development Bank are state owned enterprises (SOEs) but they have TMRC shareholding separately.
